Steps to Determine a Diagnosis
- Your initial Discussion Board posts should be at minimum 250 words. You are expected to conduct independent research on the subject and use two scholarly sources in addition to the textbook. Provide in-text citations and list of references to support your post as required.
- Initial Consultation: The patient typically begins by visiting a primary care physician or a healthcare provider. During this consultation, they discuss their symptoms, medical history, and any relevant family history.
- Physical Examination: The healthcare provider conducts a physical examination to assess the patient’s condition, looking for signs that may indicate a particular health issue.
- Diagnostic Testing: Based on the initial evaluation, the provider may order diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans), or other specialized tests to gather more information about the patient’s health.
